Today, as part of our work to improve our awareness of different disabilities, we were very privileged to be visited by David and his guide dog Scooby. David told us how he lost his sight and how valuable Scooby has been to him, keeping him safe, helping to be independent again, and being a great companion.

“I thought it was really interesting to learn about other peoples different disabilities and I thought it was amazing that dogs can do such different things and how they can benefit someone’s life, in ways we never thought. Scooby was adorable and very clever!!” MJ & CBC Y5

We all learnt such a lot and now have a greater understanding of blindness and the important work of guide dogs. At the end of the assembly we are all lucky to be able to stroke Scooby! Thank you David for coming to speak to us.
