Today was Safer Internet Day 2017 and St. Vincent’s joined the global Safer Internet Day campaign to promote the safe and responsible use of technology. The theme was ‘Be the change: Unite for a better internet’, which fits in well with our World Week focus.

The whole school attended a special assembly and we considered what we should do if we came across unpleasant images or video links (answer- tell an adult, and don’t click on the link in case it contains a virus). We then thought about the photos that we take and why we should not share personal information about ourselves or others, especially if we do not have permission. Finally we made links to our anti-bullying work and thought about cyber bullying. It is important to always remember to treat others as you could like to be treated and never to say anything online that you would not say in person. This week (and always!) we are going to try and spread kindness.
