Good Morning, Nursery.
I loved seeing your minibeast pictures and models last week.
This week, we are learning about caterpillars and butterflies.
Our book of the week is ‘The Very Hungry Caterpillar’ by Eric Carle. Read ‘The Very Hungry Caterpillar’ book if you have it or listen to the author reading it here:https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=nD_uIFHpscw
The book teaches all about the life cycle of a caterpillar.
Can you look at the picture of the life cycle of a caterpillar and talk about what happens, starting with the egg. In the story the caterpillar spins a cocoon. A cocoon is also called a pupa or a chrysalis.
Hello,
Victoire knows the cycle of caterpillar now!
Well done, Victoire. You made two life cycles!
Hello Miss Siswick
Ania herself told the whole story. She said that the caterpillar hatches out of the egg, then eats a lot of food, makes a cocoon and a beautiful butterfly emerges from the cocoon.
Ania drew caterpillar life cycle picture
Well done, Ania You drew such a detailed life cycle.
Good morning Miss Siswick
Esme loves this book!
She used potato, sponge, brush and fingerprints to paint the life cycl of the caterpillar
She wanted to mix colours and experiment with different textures
A great activity!!!
I love this book too, Esme. Your life cycle pictures are beautiful Well done.
Hello Miss Siswick,
First egg, then caterpillar, cocoon and then the beautiful butterfly.
I really enjoyed drawing my picture of the life cycle of the caterpillar.

Good afternoon ,
Caspian knows well the cycle of caterpillar and told the story to all of us on separate occasions.
Well done, Caspian. It sounds as if you know the story well.
Alexander says the caterpillar comes out of the egg, eats leaves, becomes a cocoon and then breaks out of the cocoon as a beautiful butterfly. He made a poster!
Great poster, Alexander. Well done.
