This week, we were delighted to accept an invitation to watch Catholic Children’s Society perform an Advent Carol Service at Westminster Cathedral alongside many other schools from around Westminster.

The service was led by Bishop Paul McAleenan, the Bishop for the Catholic Diocese of Westminster who welcomed us with prayers. We could join in with singing the Christmas Carols and recognised many including ‘Silent Night’, ‘O Little Town of Bethlehem’ and ‘Hark the Herald Angels Sang’.

The performers included an angel who told us the Christmas story in a very entertaining way and Carol singers. They were accompanied by children performing the roles of Joseph, Mary and innkeepers. There was even the appearance of two real donkeys from Hackney City Farm called CJ and Clover, which was a highlight for the children.

The service was lovely and it was a privilege to be a part of such a service at the grand Westminster Cathedral!
