Today we took a team of 10 girls from Year 5 and 6 to take part in the annual girls Westminster football tournament. After arriving at the venue, we started with our warm up which involved some passing and then having a few shots on goal.

All the girls worked very well together as a team, showing lots of great sportsmanship including communicating well with the team and praising each other from the sidelines.

We had 3 teams in our group and we won all of our group games which meant that we were placed first and received a bye into the semi-finals! After a very close game where we were leading with 30 seconds left, we conceded a goal from an impossible angle before the game went to a penalty shootout! Unfortunately, we missed two penalty’s resulting in us playing in the 3rd vs 4th playoff. After recovering from a goal down, we scored two quick goals to secure third place!

Well done to all the girls in the team, you represented St Vincent’s superbly! To only concede 2 goals all tournament was a fantastic achievement!
