As we enter the season of Lent, families at St. Vincent’s are joining together in reflection and prayer as we prepare our hearts for Easter and the Resurrection of Jesus. Throughout Lent, families will receive a Lent prayer bag from school to help them come together to pray, reflect, and grow in faith at home.
The Lent prayer bag invites families to spend time thinking about Jesus’ journey, the importance of prayer, kindness, and forgiveness, and how we can live out the values of Lent in our daily lives. All the contents are stored inside a zipped bag. Please ensure everything is returned to the bag after use so nothing gets lost as the bags travel from home to home.
Inside your bag you will find:
A Bible
A purple cloth
Rosary beads
A velvet bag containing candles and pebbles
A Lent Prayer Bag guide (contents may vary slightly for EYFS and KS1)
This prayer bag will help you to spend time praying together as a family and growing closer to God and Jesus. Coming together to read Scripture, reflect, and pray will help prepare you for Lent and the busy weeks leading up to Easter.
