This week, we celebrated World Book Day, and this year’s theme was “Go All In.” The idea behind the theme is to encourage everyone to fully enjoy reading by choosing books they love and exploring many different kinds of stories. In Nursery, we always enjoy sharing books and celebrating the joy of reading, so today was a fantastic opportunity to encourage reading for pleasure. The children were especially excited to come to school dressed as their favourite book characters!

We started our special day with a walk around the school hall, where we proudly showed off our amazing costumes to the rest of the school. We also listened to Miss Forster-Adams, who told us more about this year’s theme and the activities taking place across the school.

Later, Miss Karagianni visited Nursery for a teacher reading swap. We were excited to see her costume and share our own with her. She was dressed as Jane Austen, although the children were just as eager to tell her all about their own outfits!

Afterwards, we enjoyed a fun music session with Mr Hilton, where we continued developing our rhythm skills using egg shakers.

In the afternoon, we were very lucky to have family reading time. Parents and family members joined us in the classroom for a special reading session. It was wonderful to share our favourite books together and have lots of lovely conversations about reading.
