This week we had a wonderful time celebrating World Book Day at St Vincent’s! It was a lovely day shared with all of our friends and teachers.
On Monday we took our our £1 World Book Day tokens and visited Daunt Books! There, we got the change to choose a special World Book Day book and had lots of fun sharing which books we chose with our friends. This really got us excited for Thursday when we take part in the big day along with everyone else at school.
World Book Day on Thursday began the day with a special assembly led by Miss Forster Adams. During the assembly we discovered the teachers’ theme for the day : ‘Little People, Big Dreams’. We talked about why World Book Day is so important and how books help us learn, imagine and explore new ideas. Afterwards, we enjoyed a fun costume parade where we could see everyone’s fantastic outfits and the characters they had come dressed as.
Later in the morning we took part in an exciting music lesson with Mr Hylton. Back in the classroom, we spent time talking about our favourite books, listening to some new stories, making colourful bookmarks and drawing the characters we had dressed up as.
In the afternoon, lots of our mummies and daddies came to visit our classroom for some very special family reading time. It was so lovely to share stories together and celebrate our love of reading.
A big thank you to Daut Books for our visit and to Miss Forster Adams for organising such a special and memorable day for us all!
