Last night we went out to play on the field and then, once it had become dark, we started our night hike. Some of us were a bit nervous to be told that we were walking in the woods in small groups, in the dark and with no adults, but it turned out to be okay! We were given torches and had to follow reflective squares through the woods to reach the log circle where we all came together (and we were relieved to know that the teachers were behind us the whole way!).
We then came back to our dorms, showered and went to sleep. After such a busy day, everyone went to sleep very quickly and slept through the night!
We had another delicious breakfast in the morning and then came back to open our letters from our parents. It was so lovely to hear from them and we are looking forward to writing back to them to tell them about our time in Sayers Croft. We’re going to Ewhurst tomorrow so we’ll post the letters there, and hopefully they’ll make it back to our parents before we do!
We then headed into the woods again (but this time it was light!) for our woodland walk. Gail led us around and we did a range if different activities in the woods. We also saw a toad, mole and a butterfly and heard a fox.
After this we did the ballista challenge. We worked in our groups to build catapults and flung wet sponges at a target!
We’re off to lunch now and looking forward to more fun this afternoon!
Thank you for the many updates and pictures. All looks so much fun.
No child will want to comeback!
So glad to see you all enjoying your stay at Sayers Croft! Cant wait to receive the letter. Enjoy everyone!
I am sure it was a lot of fun to test the self-made catapults! Looking very much forward to the post from Sayers Croft!
