This half term term, Year 2 have been taking part in both Yoga and Cricket lessons. The children have been thoroughly enjoying developing their physical skills, building their confidence and learning new techniques.

This week, our Yoga lesson began by taking some time to calm our bodies and minds after a busy morning and break time. We practised breathing exercises, visualisation and meditation while listening to relaxing music. Once we felt calm, focused and ready to begin, we explored a range of new yoga poses.

The children worked hard to create poses inspired by animals and the world around us, including an iceberg, seal, boat, polar bear, dolphin and starfish. Some of the balancing poses were tricky at first, so we focused on developing our balance, control and concentration. By the end of the lesson, the children were much more confident and incredibly proud of what they had achieved.

To finish, we worked together to create a sequence of our favourite poses to music. We ended the session with a short meditation, helping us to feel calm and ready for the rest of the day.

The children have been loving their Yoga lessons and are excited to continue learning, developing their skills and becoming even more confident!
