In our computing lessons this term, we are learning all about vector drawing. This is a type of digital art where pictures are made using simple shapes rather than freehand drawing. Instead of sketching with a pencil, we use the computer to create and arrange shapes like circles, squares, and rectangles to build more complex images.
In today’s lesson, we were given a fun and creative challenge: we could only use a circle and a square to make our pictures! At first, this seemed tricky, but we quickly discovered how versatile these shapes could be. We practised using tools to copy and paste, and we learnt how to resize, stretch, rotate, and recolour the shapes to turn them into different objects. Some of us made animals, faces, buildings, or even abstract designs!
This activity helped us develop our design skills and become more confident with using vector graphics software. We are looking forward to learning even more techniques and creating more detailed artwork in the coming weeks.
What were you able to make, and what challenges did you face?
