On a bright and energetic day, our Year 4 class had the fantastic opportunity to take part in a Multi-Sports Skills Festival hosted by Active Westminster at Paddington Recreation Ground – and what a day it was!
The festival was packed with exciting activities designed to challenge our teamwork, coordination, and communication – and we were more than ready!
We started with a treasure hunt, where we searched under colourful cones to find hidden letters. We only had 30 seconds as a team to get as many as we could and once the time was out, we worked together to spell out different words. It was a great way to get moving while testing our brainpower too!
Next came a real test of trust – the blindfold obstacle course. In pairs, one of us was blindfolded while the other had to guide us safely around the course using only their voice. It wasn’t easy especially as we had to balance a ball on a racket whilst blindfolded, but it was amazing to see how well we communicated and supported each other.
We also enjoyed some brilliant football activities, focusing on our dribbling and passing skills. After practising, we put our new talents to the test in some friendly football matches. There were goals, great teamwork, and lots of cheering from the sidelines from our teachers and parent volunteers!
Throughout the day, we showed fantastic sportsmanship, encouragement, and enthusiasm. A big thank you to Active Westminster for organising such a fun and active day, and for making it all run so smoothly.
Well done, Year 4 – you made us proud with your energy, effort, and team spirit! What did you enjoy most about the multi skills festival?
