This week we’ve had a fantastic start to the year in Reception!

The children have settled in beautifully. We have been spending lots of time, playing, making new friends and getting to know each other.

As part of ‘My Place in the World’ Week, we have been thinking about how to make our classroom a kind and welcoming place for everyone. Together we agreed on some important class rules such as helping one another, showing kindness, and always trying our best.

We shared our ideas during circle time and created a special display of our class charter to remind us of these promises. Each child added a special hot air balloon with their picture in the basket to show that we are all a very important part of making our classroom a happy place to learn and play. If we work together, the only way is up (which is what the balloons symbolise!).

In Religious Education, we began learning about the creation story. The children drew their own portraits to celebrate the belief that God made each of us and loves us all. We will display these above our prayer table, to help us remember this throughout our Creation & Covenant topic.

Well done everyone! I hope you have all had a lovely week!
