This week Year 1 have come to the end of their very first class text of the year ‘Stanley’s Stick’.
Stanley’s Stick is about a young boy called Stanley who uses his incredible imagination to make his stick magical! Year 1 absolutely loved this book and did an amazing job to create their own stories which were just like Stanleys’. The children turned their sticks into dinosaurs, geckos, roses and even pencils to do all of their homework!
We began our week by creating a story plan which included a clear beginning, middle and ending, we then used the rest of the week to take our time to create our amazing stories. For our first big writing task of the year, year 1 did an amazing job and should be very proud of themselves.
