This half term in PE, our focus has been on the unit of Fitness. We have been exploring what this actually means, why it is important and how we can improve our general fitness. We have learnt that fitness enables our bodies to stay strong and healthy, allowing us to enjoy daily activities and maintain lifelong well-being.

Our focus this week was on combining fitness with coordination and agility, which would help us to move our bodies with control and confidence. After doing a warm-up to get our bodies ready for fitness, our coaches introduced a game that was a class favourite. We had to work in pairs, standing opposite each other by a cone and perform different exercises before the coach would call “swipe”. When this word was called, the first person to grab the cone was the winner!

Later, we were given a challenge of placing a beanbag on our foot, flicking it up into the air and catching it in our hands before the beanbag hits the ground. We had to see how many of these we could do in 60 seconds before swapping over. These games were so fun and an engaging way to develop our skills.

Well done Year 4, on working on your fitness and coordination. What did you enjoy about the lesson this week?
