This week, we have been learning all about virtues, the positive habits that help us to live good and happy lives.
We explored both the theological virtues (faith, hope and love) and the cardinal virtues (prudence, justice, fortitude and temperance), and discussed how these guide us to make good choices, treat others with kindness, and grow closer to God.
Last week, we studied a range of inspiring figures such as Oscar Romero, St Josephine Bakhita, Pope Francis, Malala Yousafzai, Greta Thunberg and Marcus Rashford, we reflected on how these individuals have used their virtues to make the world a better place.
This week, we turned our focus inward, thinking carefully about the virtues we have developed in our own lives through acts of kindness, service, prayer and love within our school community. We then considered which virtues we would like to continue developing, with God’s guidance and love, so that we can keep growing in goodness and do our part to make the world a more just and compassionate place.
As part of our learning, we created beautiful Virtue Trees to show how we are growing in goodness. The roots represented the virtues we already have, such as love, honesty and hope, while the branches and leaves showed the virtues we hope to develop, like compassion and humility. Each tree was unique and thoughtful, showing how, with God’s help, we can all continue to grow and share our goodness with others.
Which virtue are you most excited to develop?
