Today in music, the children had a fantastic time exploring rhythm and melody with Mr Hylton.

We began by copying and clapping along to a rhythm that Mr Hylton played, focusing carefully on listening and keeping in time.

Next, the children practised following a rhythm on their xylophones, playing the green, pink and red keys as Mr Hylton played the matching notes on the piano. Everyone did a brilliant job of following along, and some children were even confident enough to try a solo!

We then joined together to sing our new special song, ‘Don’t You Push Me’, while playing the accompanying notes on the xylophones alongside Mr Hylton’s piano.

The children sang beautifully and played with great enthusiasm.

We had so much fun making music together this week!

Thank you Mr Hylton and well done Reception!
