Our topics for this term are:
English
Reading skills focus: Retrieve and record information/identify key details from fiction and non-fiction. Summarise main ideas from more than one paragraph
Writing focus: Using dialogue in stories / monologues / non chronological reports
Maths focus:
Weeks 1- decimals & percentages Weeks 2 and 3-Measures (length, mass, volume, time) -converting units of measures and measures word problems Week 4-Area & perimeter Week 5 / 6-Volume (Geometry), Scale factor.
In previous half terms we have covered: Number and place value (place value, rounding, negative numbers), Multiplication and Division, Word problems, Fractions, Statistics, Geometry (nets, 2D and 3-D shapes, angles, parts of a circle)
Our Project this term is Freedom, with a focus on both animal rights and human rights.

By Year 6, you need to know all of your times tables facts (both multiplication and division) up to 12 x 12. You should know them so well that you can answer any times table facts question almost immediately! Click here to practise…and remember, practice makes perfect!
