Class 4 were lucky to visit Benjamin Franklin’s House to find out all about him. He did many things in his life, he was a politician, inventor and scientist! We got a tour around his house to find out all about his life.
His main scientific discovery was all about lightning. He thought that lightning was electricity travelling through the air, and that it would pass through metal to get to the ground. We saw an amazing experiment that re-created this and made lightning in the room! Benjamin Franklin was right and this led him to invent the lightning rod that protects many buildings during storms.
It was a fascinating day!
