As part of our end of topic celebration, Class 4 transformed our classroom into our very own Roman market this afternoon!

We made our own Roman coins, pots, mosaics, bread rolls and newspapers to sell at the market. We also sold lots of tickets to a very exciting chariot race!

We shared lots of facts and information about our products to show our visitors all that we have learnt this term about the Romans:

Our Roman menus showed the kind of foods the Romans liked to eat.

Mosaics would have only been available to the richest of Romans, as they took so long to make and were very expensive!

Our newspapers had stories about chariot races, gladiator fights and a retelling of a Roman myth – not forgetting the Sudoku made with Roman numerals and a Roman word search!

Our pots were hand painted and would have been used for many everyday Roman chores, such as carrying water or making food.

Our chariot races showed just how dramatic this popular Roman entertainment could be!

A big thank you to all of the adults that came to our Roman market, we hope you enjoyed your visit!
