Every Tuesday afternoon each class takes part in a form of Worship.
This half term we have been trialling a range of different forms of Prayer and Worship which has been super exciting. Today we looked at the Rosary. The Rosary supports Catholics in praying and is usually dedicated to Mary. October is the month of the Rosary so we thought that looking at the Rosary closer would be a great way to prepare for this special and Holy month.
Each class worship in Year 1 begins with a hymn, usually we pick one we love and that will relax us. We then read our Gospel of the week, this week we read about Lazarus and discussed how we in our lives can help and give to others who are less fortunate. Year 1 had brilliant ideas.
Next we passed around the Rosary beads and each child took a close look at them, it was lovely to see all of the children being super careful and respectful. We looked at why the Rosary is important and discussed some of the different prayers you say when saying the Rosary. As a class we practiced saying the Our Father, Hail Mary and the Glory be. We completed our worship with another hymn.
Year 1 absolutely love Class Worship and work super hard during this special and Holy time!
