This week was Enterprise Week at St Vincent’s – a fantastic way to end our first half term! Year 1 had an amazing time taking part in a range of exciting activities, learning new skills, and working together to create our very own business.

On Monday, we got creative and came up with a company name. We had lots of brilliant suggestions, but after a class vote, we decided on “Tiny Treasures” – the perfect name for our bracelet-making business! We also designed our company logo and made colourful posters to share in our school assembly.

On Tuesday, we wrote persuasive speeches to encourage others to buy our bracelets and learned all about money in maths. The children loved exploring coins and notes as part of their learning.

Wednesday was a big day! During our whole-school assembly, some of our brave and brilliant Year 1s presented Tiny Treasures to everyone, sharing what we had been working on. We also began taking and receiving orders, ready to start production. That day, we were lucky to welcome two inspiring parents into school to talk about their exciting careers – we learned so much from them!

On Thursday, it was time to get making! With over 100 bracelets to create, we were busy all day. A huge thank you to all the adults who came in to help – we couldn’t have done it without you.

Finally, on Friday, we packed up our orders, delivered our finished products, and even calculated our profit. What an incredible achievement!

Overall, it was a wonderful week of creativity, teamwork, and learning. Year 1 should be so proud of themselves – well done, everyone!
