This week in PE we began our fitness lessons with some warm up activities to get everyone moving and ready for the session. After that, we played a fun reaction game in pairs where we had to hold a band between us while the coach called out words like heads, shoulders or toes. Every now and then the coach would try to catch us out by saying tummy instead of the real word we were waiting for, which was tag. As soon as we heard tag, we had to see who could grab the band the fastest, which led to lots of laughs and friendly competition.
Once the game was finished, we talked about the importance of fitness and how it helps improve our strength, speed and teamwork. To finish off the lesson, we got into our teams and raced each other, putting all that energy to good use. The winning team didn’t just show great speed, they also managed to sit down in a straight line quicker than anyone else, showing that teamwork really does make a difference.
