Class 6 presented a fabulous assembly on the theme of ‘Animal Freedom’. We asked St Vincent’s and our parents to decide whether animals should have the same rights as humans and presented both sides of the arguments for visiting zoos, being vegetarian, owning pets and making animals do human jobs. During the assembly, we heard from many different animals, including pets, endangered animals, zoo animals, Laika the space dog, Ham the space chimpanzee and Cher Ami, the heroic World War II carrier pigeon. Everyone learnt something new and also enjoyed singing along to ‘I want to break free’ and ‘King of the Swingers’. Well done for an exciting and informative assembly.
