This year, to celebrate Harvest Festival, our school worked together with the City Harvest Food Drive to collect non-perishable goods to support people in need across Westminster and London.
Harvest Festival is a time when we give thanks for all the food we have and think about those who may not have as much. Rooted in Christian tradition, it reminds us of the importance of sharing our blessings with others, showing kindness, and helping those in our community. That’s why, each year, we collect food items to donate to local charities and food banks.
Our Pupil Chaplaincy Team introduced the collection during assembly, explaining to the school the importance of Harvest Festival and why we were gathering non-perishable goods. Their thoughtful words encouraged everyone to take part and make a difference to others.
Over two weeks in October, we collected eight large boxes filled with a wonderful variety of foods and resources to support families and individuals in need. So many children showed incredible generosity, which was truly lovely to see. Our Pupil Chaplaincy Team then carefully sorted all of the donations into groups and organised the boxes, ready to be delivered.
Thank you so much to everyone for your kindness, hard work, and support. We are hoping to receive a report soon showing how our contributions have helped to support our wider community.
