I enjoyed being Headteacher for the Day.

First, I had my photo taken so we could display it on the board and everyone would know I am the Headteacher today.

Then I went to the door and gave out hand sanitiser whilst saying “Good morning” to everyone.

Next, we went to the office to record the names of children who were late. Luckily there were not many!

Then I led assembly for the whole school.  I picked children who were sitting beautifully so they could go up the rainbow. I introduced Miss Drury to talk about Science Week and an exciting competition. I gave out a Star of the Week certificate to a child in every class.

Next, we went to nursery and they were playing “Dinner time “with sharks and little fishes during PE. The winner was Jacopo- well done to him!

Then we went to Reception they were doing phonics and spelling out words. They did such good handwriting! I was very impressed with their work.

We went to Year 1 where they were doing shared reading and they had a lot of ideas. They were showing confidence with their reading skills and were listening carefully. They were really well- behaved so I moved them all up the rainbow.

Then we went to Year 2, where they were learning about how Goldilocks felt in the bears cottage and what she thought.

We went to see Year 3 but they were out on a trip. There was a display and so I could see that they were learning about the BFG and made lots of predictions about what they think will happen.

After we then went to Year 4, where they were completing their spelling test very calmly.

Then we went to Year 5 who were learning about finding the missing angle. They had really good ideas. Their hands were always up to answer questions.

Finally, we went to Year 6 who were splitting words in half and making the words the correct way. I put a few students up the rainbow twice because they were working hard and very polite.

It was finally lunch time. I sampled the food-it was yummy. I went to check if the nursery children were eating enough. Then I had my own lunch and gave out some tokens.  Yellow team (my team!) is doing well.

I then sat with Miss Gomez to order items for the school. I chose some lovely art resources.

Overall, my experience of being a head teacher for the day was exciting and fun, as I was making sure everyone was following the rules, keeping safe and having a good time.

After a long day I still have one job I need to do-handing out the sun stickers to all the students who have made great choices to get on to the sun!

I had the best time and wish I could do this all over again.
