Today was Odd Socks Day and lots of us remembered to wear odd socks to celebrate our uniqueness and to remind us to love and respect everyone for their differences.

We started with a whole school assembly to launch Anti-Bullying Week and then, back in class, we joined a special live lesson all about how we can use our ‘Power for Good’, which is this year’s theme. We enjoyed working with our partners on the challenges we were given in the lesson..

In class we  consolidated what we know about different types of bullying, the different roles in bullying scenarios and who to talk to if we need support. We also created posters to remind everyone to use their power for good and to support targets of bullying by being  upstanders.

We all  know that each one of us is important in making the world a kinder place. In the Bible, it says ‘In everything, do to others what you would have them do to you. ‘ (Matthew 7:12)

One Year 6 child shared another inspirational quote with us today: ‘Bullying is like throwing rocks in the ocean. You never know how deep the rocks will go.’

How will you use your power for good, Year 6?
