On Monday, we visited St James’s church.

Reception said that the church made them feel ‘quiet and peaceful’.

We thought about all the different parts of the church and we each decided what we liked best.

Here are some of our favourites:

  • The stained glass windows are best because they each tell a story from the Bible.
  • The flowers because they make the church smell nice.
  • The lectern because sometimes children go up to talk.
  • The altar because that’s where Father Christopher puts the bread and the wine.
  • The wooden pews are best because that’s where we sit to pray.
  • The cross because it reminds us that Jesus died and came back to life.
  • The lovely candles that we can light for someone special in heaven.

Thank you to the parents who accompanied us on the trip.
