All children took part in an assembly to mark Safer Internet Day. The theme for this year was Smart Tech, Safe Choices: Exploring the safe and responsible use of AI.

We discussed how helpful AI can be but also why we, as humans, are better at spotting patterns and why AI might not always be accurate. We shared ways that we could check that AI is correct as well as good times to use AI and which times it is better not to.

As always, we reminded children that we are working together with them and that if they ever have that ‘funny feeling’ in their tummy, they should speak to a trusted adult so that we can work it out together.

This was good thanks! My question is: is there an AI that serves food in a cafe?

I think this assembly reminded me how careful we must be of AI. Nothing can replace a human brain. Thank you Miss Carruthers for teaching us.
