Year 5 have really enjoyed learning about Sikhism this week. We looked at the origins of the Khalsa and learned about the 5 K’s. After our visit to the Central Gurdwara, we were inspired to express our point of view on issues such as the exclusion of school pupils in Britain because they wore a kara (steel bangle) or carried a kirpan (ceremonial dagger). We arrived at judgements and debated our point of view very persuasively. Please have a look at some photos below.
