This week in Year 4, our music lesson was all about getting creative with the ukulele! Firstly, we recapped what we learnt last week in our first lesson with Mr Hylton and played a quick game to help us remember the names of the correct chords. After that, we were told that in today’s lesson, we would get the chance to practise playing a selection of chords and then use our new skills to compose our very own tunes.
After practising the selection of chords, we took our skills to the next level by putting them together and creating unique melodies. Some of us, even added a rhythm to our music, making our tunes come to life! It was amazing to see how quickly we picked up the chords and used them to express own creativity. Lastly, some of us got the chance to perform in front of the whole class!
The ukulele is such a fun and accessible instrument, and it’s wonderful to get the chance to explore our musical talents in such an exciting way. We can’t wait to hear more of our original compositions as we continue to develop our musical skills!
