Today, we celebrated our love of reading at St. Vincent’s during World Book Day!
It was so exciting to find out this year’s theme for the teachers which was the amazing Little People, BIG DREAMS. The day began with a whole school assembly where Miss Foster-Adams introduced World Book Day and the theme for this year which was: Go For It! We then had a parade to show off our wonderful costumes in front of the whole school.
In class, we had a special visit from Pablo Picasso who read us his life story and showed us some inspiring pieces of art work. After break, we had a special music lesson with Mr Hylton before completing our book reviews on the best book we have ever read. The purpose was to inspire the younger children in school by describing what we enjoyed about the best book we’ve ever read and why we would recommend it to someone else. We even drew a small image to show the book and some of the characters.
Lastly, it was time to have our whole school family reading session. It was great to see lots of parents and children, all enjoying reading together in the classroom.
Thank you Miss Forster Adams for organising such a brilliant World Book Day for us!
