This week was World Week on St. Vincent’s which was a very special week celebrating our world and the different heritage countries that we come from. Throughout the week, we took part in a wide range of activities designed to help us learn, reflect and celebrate together.

On Tuesday, we attended a very important assembly led by Miss Carruthers. We discussed how helpful AI can be but also why we, as humans, are better at spotting patterns and why AI might not always be accurate. We thought of ways that we could check that AI is correct as well as good times to use AI and which times it is better not to. As always, the children were reminded that we are working together with them and that if they ever have that ‘funny feeling’ in their tummy, they should speak to a trusted adult so that we can work it out together.

Thursday was Spirituality Day, and we visited St. James’ Church to celebrate Mass. It was a beautiful opportunity to thank God for creating our wonderful world and all the people in it. The church was filled with uplifting singing, and we grew closer to God through prayer and reflection. Later in the day, we learned more about our house saints by exploring the countries of the UK and their patron saints, deepening our understanding of our own house saints.

On Friday, we proudly celebrated our own cultures and heritage countries. The Cultural Day assembly was a true highlight of the week, with children performing songs, dances and poems that reflected their backgrounds and traditions. It was especially heart warming to see some very brave children from Reception taking part! The joy, pride and confidence shown by all of the performers made it a truly special oassembly and a lovely way to end our World Week!

World Week was a wonderful celebration of diversity, faith and community. We are so proud of the way our children embraced the opportunity to learn about one another and celebrate what makes each of us unique.

Well done Reception!
