Today, Year 1 enjoyed an unforgettable Tudor adventure on board the Golden Hinde II. We had a fabulous workshop led by Captain Jack Scrabble to experience the life of a pirate aboard the ship Sir Francis Drake used to circumnavigate the globe between 1577-80. We learnt how to raise the anchor, fire the cannons and where to hide the treasure. We even learnt about scurvy, a horrible disease the pirates used to get because they didn’t have any fresh fruit or vegetables. So don’t forget your healthy diet, Year 1, or you know what will happen! Thank you to all the mummies and daddies who came with us today. We couldn’t have done it without you. IMG_1565
