What an unforgettable day our Year 2 pupils had on their trip to Crockford Bridge Farm! With the sun shining brightly and spirits high, the children enjoyed a fun-filled outdoor adventure picking fresh strawberries and rhubarb straight from the fields.
From the moment we arrived, excitement buzzed through the air as we grabbed our baskets and set off to explore the rows of ripe red strawberries. Pupils loved searching for the juiciest berries and learning how to carefully pick them. The rhubarb patch was equally fascinating, with its tall stalks and big green leaves sparking lots of curiosity and conversation.
It was a brilliant opportunity to connect our classroom learning to real-world experiences in nature.
After our picking adventure, we found a shady spot to enjoy a well-earned picnic, and of course, sample some of our fruity harvest!
I enjoyed our trip to the farm. My favourite part was when we were collecting the strawberries. They were so delicious and nutritious. I also loved having lunch in the shade, because it was extremely hot. Thank you, Mr Sheehan, for organising such a wonderful trip:)
