Yesterday, Class 4 went to visit the Tate Britain. As we are learning about weather and the natural events of the world in our topic lessons, we went to look at Turner’s paintings. Turner was very interested in landscapes and the sea, and created lots of paintings that show different weather.

First, we explored the gallery and made a note of all the weather and natural events we could find. We then had to practise our pencil skills by imagining our pencil was affected by the different weathers. Our second task was to look at three of his paintings that show boats at sea, one was in a calm sea, one was slightly rough and one was extremely wavy. We sat in front of the paintings are drew our own versions of his paintings. Guy’s mum was very helpful and gave us lots of tips!

It was a lovely day to walk by the river and we enjoyed looking at the river in the sunshine!
