Year 5 were very fortunate to visit the Houses of Parliament on Monday for a tour and workshop looking at how the UK Parliament makes laws and the part debating plays in the legislation process.
The tour included a visit to the Palace of Westminster, The House of Commons, The House of Lords chambers, The Robing Room and St Stephen’s Chapel.

During the workshop, we considered how the public, MPs, Lords, Peers and the monarch shape our laws. We all had a very interesting debate about our own ideas for a law.

It was a fantastic day and we learnt so much!
