Good morning Year 2!

It really has been a strange couple of weeks with everyone having to stay at home. We have missed seeing all your smiling faces each morning and hearing all your exciting stories that you like to tell us. We want you to know that we are thinking of you everyday. We love hearing from you on the blogs and seeing some of your wonderful activities that you have been managing to do with your families.

As a class, we cannot meet in our classroom like we usually do, but we want to use this blog as a way for us to chat to each other and find out how everyone is doing. So chat! Use this as a space to catch up with each other, share some of the things you have been doing at home – fun things, not just work! – so that we can all try out the different things that you have been doing and keep in touch with each other. What have you been doing during the days? I enjoyed going through all our photos to find the three I’ve put at the top. Which photos are your favourites? Let me know and I can add them in.

Don’t forget to check all the Class 2 blogs from the past two weeks, I’ve been adding in lots of photos of your work that has been sent in. If you send me any more, then I’ll put them up too. There is also the Worry Box blog if you are worrying about anything in particular and you want to write it in there.

Have a wonderful Easter holidays, we can’t wait to hear what you’ve been up to.

Love from

Miss Carruthers, Mrs O’Neill and Miss C

I have been doing the daily maths every day.
I also have been drawing pictures of animals and a picture of The Tempest. I will send the pictures in. I have been doing lots of lego also. I have been also doing craft about The Tempest. I will also send the crafts pictures about The Tempest.

  2. Miss Carruthers says:

Wow Madeleine – you have been so busy. I love that you have been so creative with all your drawing and craft. What have you been building with the lego? I’m sure others would love some ideas of things to make from lego!

  3. Dear all,
I have been doing P.E everyday with Joe and I have earned a lot of stars for st Vincent on the swimming game in Busy Things. I did quizzes with my mum and my sister and sometimes I make cupcakes with my mum. I enjoy making it but eating them is the best part! Sorry I can’t provide a photo of the cupcakes because we ate them all very quickly.

  4. Miss Carruthers says:

I know how much our class love the swimming game, I’m sure everyone will be so pleased! That’s such a great idea to make cupcakes. I definitely agree that eating them is the best bit – my sister made us some banana bread yesterday and we ate it so quickly as well, definitely no time to take a photo!
Would you like to bake anything else?

  5. Hello everyone. How are you all? I just want to say how much I am missing you all and looking at those photos makes me miss you even more! I hope you have all been doing some nice things with your day as well as your school work. I can’t believe how fast the day goes. I’ve been catching up on reading – do you know that I’ve had a huge pile of books that I’ve wanted to read for ages and now I’ve found the time to start to read them. Apart from doing Joe Wicks I’m also walking around the park for my daily exercise. What with that and cooking, eating and phoning a few friends the day is gone before I know it! Take care all of you. Can’t wait to see you again.

  8. Dear Miss Carruthers,
We have been making a plastic cups lamp ? and also doing the maths challenges and we wrote the first English task.

  9. Miss Carruthers says:

You’ve been very busy! What is a plastic cup lamp? Could you send me a photo of your finished lamp so we can all see it?

  10. Hello everyone,
I am doing lots of things like playing lots of games like memory game. I also have been creative by making objects from recycled boxes and I made a folder out of a cereal box.I have been going on my daily walk to the park and in the park we stretch and we play it and we have a ice cream on the way.

  11. Miss Carruthers says:

Hi Marisa! I’m glad to hear you’ve found so many ways to keep busy. Well done for making a folder, what else have you created? It is very good to get out the house, I have also been enjoying a daily walk but think I should copy you and have an ice cream!

  12. Missing you all everyone in Year 2. It’s very strange isn’t it not to see each other but I like the way we can keep in touch here. Hope you’re all keeping well and being kind. Can’t wait to see you all soon!

    Hi year 2
I really miss you all and can’t wait to go back to school.
My mum and I do lots of school work. My mum said I’m getting very good at maths and reading. I been reading the Roald Dahl books collection. I’m now reading George and the marvellous medicine and the granny is a horrible old lady. Some days we go on scooter rides to get some fresh air. I been painting lots of nice pictures for the NHS. I always look forward to clapping for the NHS with my brother and I’m so happy that he will be going to the same school as me.

  14. Wow Mila you certainly have been busy. Like you I can’t wait to go back to school and see you all again. I can’t believe your brother will be starting nursery soon – won’t that be fun. I’ll be clapping with you this evening Mila.

  15. Hi everyone
I have missed you all soooo much.
Can not wait to see you again.
I am typing to you in the middle of class.
What will we do in class when we get back?
    from
    Nadine

  16. Ooh Nadine. I can’t imagine how we’ll all feel when we see each other again. I don’t know what we’ll do in class – I think we might be too excited at first to do any work. I am so looking forward to that day.
