During this period of the coronavirus when we are all staying home to stay safe, it is important to try and keep healthy and well- physically, mentally and spiritually. We have collated some helpful resources for you. Please let us know if you try any of these activities or share some of your own suggestions.

Sleep is always incredibly important for wellbeing.  During the coronavirus pandemic, many people have found their sleep patterns have been disrupted due to stress, worry, and no longer going out to school or work. Such a disruption can especially impact children and adults who are sensitive to changes in routine. If your usual sleep patterns have gone off-course during the pandemic, be reassured that you are not alone in this. This guidance  suggests ways to promote good sleep habits during the pandemic, and beyond.

Staying active is vital to everyone’s physical and mental wellbeing. If you are unable to get outside for one form of exercise each day, there are loads of great ways you can get and stay active at home or out in your garden (if you have one).

Active Westminster has a new live stream / on demand content finder on the ActiveWestminster website home page and also a dedicated #StayInWorkOut page which provides for tips on how to get or stay active at home.

Mind UP has an activities page for families that has been created to help bring mindful, positive and happy moments into the home. Doing these activities and practices together will support wellbeing and help encourage a calmer, happier and more optimistic home.

The Catholic Children’s Society has collaborated with the World Community for Christian Meditation (WCCM) to develop videos which provide short meditation sessions which children and young people can participate in.  Meditation With Children

As Catholics we also need to nurture our faith and we can find much comfort in the Bible, especially during this Year of the Word: The God Who Speaks’ during which we are celebrating, living and sharing God’s word.
