We had such a lovely day at Willows Farm on our end-of-year trip!

We started our day by meeting our guide, Lily. She showed us where to leave our bags and got us on our way to our first activity, which was holding guinea pigs. We got to hold them carefully and stroke their soft fur.

Next, we headed to the Peter Rabbit show, where we enjoyed dancing and singing along to some songs. At the end of the show, Peter Rabbit had to rush home to tidy his room!

We then met a shepherd who gave us an interesting talk all about cows and their milk. He told us about Jersey cows and Highland cows and explained how milk can be used to make some of our favourite foods, including cheese, yoghurt, butter and, of course, ice cream.

After a well-deserved lunch break, we watched the sheep race. We each chose our favourite colour and cheered on the sheep as they raced around the track towards their lunch.

Then it was our turn to milk a cow! We used a model cow and had to squeeze the udders to make the water squirt out into a bowl, just like real milking.

Lastly, we met Tristan the Tractor and his friend Tilly the Trailer. We enjoyed a ride around the farm, singing songs and spotting some of the different animals. While we were waiting, we saw the pigs rolling around in the mud. Lily taught us that pigs use mud like sun cream to protect their skin, and they certainly seemed to be enjoying it that day!

We had a fantastic day at Willows Farm and made lots of wonderful memories with our friends.

We would also like to say a huge thank you to the SVPA for helping to fund our trip and making this wonderful experience possible. A special thank you also goes to our fantastic parent volunteers who generously gave up their time to support us throughout the day. We are so grateful for your help, enthusiasm and support. Your contribution played a big part in making the trip such a success, and we truly appreciate everything you did. Thank you!
