This half term in Computing for Year 4, we have been developing our programming skills using Scratch, by learning how to create algorithms through a fun and engaging project.
Over the past few lessons, we have explored the use of loops to draw a variety of shapes and have used animation blocks to bring our initials of our names to life. To do this, we have had to edit a list using Scratch commands, including movement, events, variables, and conditional statements, so that when we press play, the program will run the sequence and create the loop to help us achieve what we are asking it to do.
Eventually, we will be creating our own games and testing them out by asking other members of the class to play them to check that we have used our list of commands correctly. We are excited to see what imaginative ideas we will bring to life as we continue to develop our coding skills and get more practice using Scratch.
Year 4, what have you enjoyed about the lessons so far?
