Good morning Year 1!

I hope some of you are enjoying Joe Wick’s PE lessons at 9am every morning! I have joined in and it is very fun!

We have been performing some dances in PE. Think about to our PE lessons on marching to the beats of the music!

I would like you to think of your own dance routine and perform it to some music!

If you don’t want to do a dance maybe you could try these challenges?

  • How many star jumps can you do in 1 minute?
  • Can you touch your toes without bending your legs?
  • Hop on one foot without losing your balance

Have a look at these videos that show dances from other cultures.

This is an excellent video with lots of good exercises to warm you up! It is important to warm up your muscles before exercising so you don’t hurt the muscles.

  1. Good morning Miss Travers. I did 56 starjumps in 1 minute. I can touch my toes without bending my knees and can hop on one foot without losing balance. I also did sports with Joe Wicks this morning. I miss you.

    I CAN touch my toes without bending my knees and I CAN hop on one leg without losing my balance.
    I have been for a walk everyday and yesterday I even did a bit of jogging with my mum and Ethan. Today I ran around and played football with my mum, Ethan and Erin.

  14. Hi Miss Travers,

    I really enjoyed my PE lesson today doing star jumps, hopping and touching my toes without bending my knees ( I do this one at my gymnastics class). I have also been skipping! We don’t have our skipping ropes with us, so Fiadh and I are being creative and are using part of an old hose and rope from a gate! I managed to do 100 skips, but it took a very long time!
