Good morning Year 1!

Today we will be continuing our learning of length and height. You will need a ruler today because we are measuring in cm.

If you can, please print the sheets but do not worry if you can’t. There will be some variations of answers when using the ruler to measure on paper/on the screen. The aim is that the children practise using a ruler correctly, starting from 0cm.

Centimetres cut short is cm.

We use metres when we are measuring much longer objects or distances. We could measure the length of a playground using metres. There are 100cm in 1 metre.

Try an find these things around your house and measure them using a ruler.

Before completing your worksheets, have a listen to this song!
