Hello Class 4!

A computing task for you to do today…

As you know the play The Tempest begins in a place called Milan in Italy.

However, we don’t know much about Milan.

Your task today is to make a poster or presentation on a computer all about Milan (think back to when we made our posters about Rome).

You need to include interesting facts and pictures if you can.

Think about what is there to see and do there? Why is it an interesting place? What type of food can you eat there? What is the weather and climate? Which time of year is best to visit?

As we know, the internet is a wonderful source if used safely.

You MUST remember to follow the online safety rules. If you need reminding how to keep safe online click here to view one of our blogs where you all wrote some golden rules of how to stay safe online.

Some safe search engines:

http://www.primaryschoolict.com

http://www.safesearchkids.com

http://www.swiggle.org.uk

http://www.kidrex.org

So, here is what you need to do…

1.) Use the search engines above to safely research about Milan.

2.) Start a new document on the computer for your poster or presentation. You can use Word, PowerPoint or log onto j2e (if you really can’t make your poster on a computer, do the research and then make your poster on paper).

3.) Put the information you have found out into your own words by typing it onto your document.

4.) Add some pictures to your poster. You might want to copy and paste some that are available online.

5.) Change around with the font on your poster. You might want to change the colour or the size.

Please ask me on the blog if you have any questions. When you have completed your posters you can send them to me and I will upload them for the class to see.

I understand you may not be able to finish your poster today and do not worry if you don’t. You can send it to me whenever you have completed it.

I look forward to seeing your work!

From Miss Lee.

During this day, locals (and tourists of course) can enjoy the fair, that takes form of a street market arranged around the Saint’s Basilica, offering everything from antique stalls and buskers to the roasted chestnuts and candy floss.
