Welcome to your final Maths Challenge of the week!

Congratulations to Maryana who was the first person to answer correctly yesterday!

Alfie came in 2nd place, just one minute behind Maryana!

Use your Home Learning Book to complete your workings out and then write your answer below so I can see it.

This afternoon, I will approve the answers and reveal who completed the challenge first!

Good luck!

  7. she will buy 4 angel fish and 8 goldfish

  8. I was wrong. I checked my answer and my new answer is:
    4 angel fish and 8 goldfish.

  9. Jeanne Yr 6 says:

    goldfish: 1
    angel fish: 13

  10. I did this by adding 1.80 and 1.40 together. After I got 3.20 I added it and did a bit of trial an error. I finally got the answer by doing 3.20 X 4 and adding 4 more goldfish (1.80) to the equation.

  11. She bought 13 angel fish and 1 goldfish.

  12. Jadeyear6 says:

    She buys 8 goldfish and 4 angel fish ??????????

  13. My Working out
    How I worked it out was that I did trial and error I just kept adding £1.40 and I reached £10.80 a number which I was quite satisfied and would test out near the end .It went in 8 times meaning 8 angel fish. this was my first answer prediction.Then I did the same for £1.80 I tried £1.80 times 2 it didn’t reach twenty after adding £10.80 when I tried 4 times £1.80 I got £7.20 I added it to the previous 10.80 and I got 20.00.Meaning that they got 4 angel fish and 8 goldfish.It was very eat for me and quite simple when you put your head to it

  14. 8 goldfish and 4 angelfish

  15. 12 goldfish and 6 angle fish

  16. If you divide £20 by 2 in two separate columns for the angel and the goldfish;you get £10 in each column. £10 divided by £1.40, you get 7 fish with 20p remaining. £10 divided by £1.80 is 5 with £1 remaining.
    In total you will have 7 angel fish and 5 goldfish. And £1.20 remaining isn’t enough for another fish.

  17. Goldfish: 8
    Angel fish: 3
    1. £1.80 × 8= £14.40
    2. £1.40×4= £5.60
    3. £14.40+£5.60= £20.00

  18. 4 angel fish

    8 Gold fish

  19. Goldfish – 8 Cost of them – £14.40

    Angelfish – 4 Cost of them – £5.60

  20. Goldfish= 8
    Angelfish= 4

  21. Good Day teachers,

    8 goldfish and 4 angelfish:

    goldfish:

    £1.80×8=£14.40

    angelfish:

    £1.40x£4.00=£5.60

    add:

    £14.40+£5.60=£20.00

  22. 8 gold fish

    4 angel fish

  23. Ariella :) says:

    goldfish=8
    angelfish=4

    Ariella

  24. ?Laetitia ? says:

    Nasreen paid for _8_ goldfish and _4_angelfish.

  25. 8 goldfish and 4 angelfish=£20.00
    8 goldfish is =£14.40
    4 angelfish=£5.60

    £14.40+£5.60=£20.00 exactly

  26. 4 angel fish and 8 goldfishs

  27. Jeanne Yr 6 says:
