Adjectives

An adjective is a word that describes a noun:

The shy puppy looked tiny on the chair.

Both ‘shy’ and ‘tiny’ describe the puppy, which is the noun, or thing, in this sentence.

Rewrite this passage below and add in lots of adjectives to make it more interesting. See if you can use exciting adjectives that you have found in your reading books.

The artist put paint onto the paper. She mixed the colours. She spread the paint everywhere. It looked good!
