What is a synonym?

A synonym is a word that means the same, or similar to, another word.

Sometimes we might look for synonyms in a thesaurus to make our writing sound better, or to avoid using the same word too often.

Can you find some synonyms for the words below? Then write some sentences using your new words. I hope your sentences are super as yesterday’s sentences! ?

    Good synonyms! Make sure your sentences all start with a capital letter and that you have used the correct punctuation at the end (check sentence 3 and 7).

    When I looking after my 3 enjoyable and pleasant little cousins, but not knowing how a monumental alligator?, with glimmering, gentle and dripping skin, came stomping into the house. Archie, the 2 year old, thought it was a game, so he walked up to the alligator and was riding it like a horse ?. Then suddenly it stood up and it was towering and lanky.     1) My dad used to tell me awesome stories when I was younger.
    2)My older sister is extremely annoying and is always nagging about how silly I am.
    3) My mum doesn’t let me dress up like dragons, and cops, and princesses, but I just secretly sneak unto my friends house and bring my costumes(yes, I’m very slick).
    4)My dog, (kibbles,) was getting very colossal during the week.
    5) I got a stupendous amount of 100% in my English test.
