Good morning Year 6,

On Tuesday, you will have researched Prague.

Today, you will be creating a tourism leaflet for Prague.

Features of a leaflet:

In order to produce a successful touristic leaflet, your leaflet must have the following:

  • Attractive, eye-catching design

  • Title and what the leaflet is about.

  • Headings/sub headings -different sizes/fonts

  • Paragraphs – clearly written & in the present tense

  • Any persuasive slogans or persuasive language

  • Photos, drawings or diagrams

  • Useful information – prices, how to get there, etc

First, I would recommend planning your leaflet in your Home Learning book and especially which subheadings you are going to use based on the research you have found.

Today you can write your opening paragraph or first few sentences on the blog and then you will receive feedback which you can apply to your final published piece for tomorrow. Then you can finish your writing in your Home Learning Books, making sure you proof read and edit as you go!

Good luck!

  2. Miss Carruthers says:

Good idea Elly. Thanks for letting me know. Remember to just send in your start and then you can finish it off later πŸ™‚

  3. All done !!!!!

  4. Miss Carruthers says:

Well done! If you want me to have a look at it, then send it in please! πŸ™‚

  5. I am going to send mine in through files and photos because it’s in my home learning book

  6. Miss Carruthers says:

Excellent, send them to me so that I can receive them! Can’t wait to read it πŸ™‚

  7. Miss Carruthers says:

Well done Ariella! πŸ™‚ Just make sure that you are using formal language in your tourist leaflet – there shouldn’t be any contractions. I can’t wait to read the rest!

  8. Miss Carruthers says:

Excellent work Elly, you’ve made it sound very appealing to visit. Just check your spelling of ‘peacefull’ and consider whether the phrase “lighten up your day” makes sense πŸ™‚

  9. Here are my improvements.
    Correction of Spelling= Peaceful
Correction of Sentence= There are also many places to visit and with a bottle of Pilsner beer you will make every view feel more beautiful by having just one sip

  10. Miss Carruthers says:

Brilliant, I love it! Can’t wait to read the rest tomorrow.

  11. Please tell me if anything needs to be improved from my improved work.

  12. Miss Carruthers says:

I think you’re ready to go now!
