Good morning Year 6! Well done for your work yesterday

Today we are focusing on Grammar. For a starter, please complete the questions below in your Home Learning Book.

Please visit these websites to revise the above terminology:

BBC Bitesize: Whis is a noun?

BBC Bitesize: What is a verb?

BBC Bitesize: Past v Present tense

BBC Bitesize: What is an adverb?

What is the active voice?

BBC Bitesize: How to punctuate direct speech

On Thursday you are going to write an advert for the toy the girl desperately wants.

You can begin to brainstorm ideas in your home learning book today. What does it look like?

Can you think of some descriptive words to describe the toy?

Adverts are:

convincing

appealing

persuasive

attention grabbing

effective adverts often use rhetorical questions. A rhetorical question is a question that is used for effect. It does not need to be answered.

Please see: Advertisement Vocabulary

In the comment below, write a short paragraph describing a toy or favourite game you have at home using the above terminology (nouns, verbs, present tense, adverbs, active voice).

Please proof-read for spelling or grammar errors before submitting your comment!

I look forward to reading your responses,

Mrs Avdiu xx
