Words in contracted form
A contracted form is a grammatical term. It refers to short words made by putting two words together and omitting some letters, which are replaced by an apostrophe. For example: did not is contracted to didn’t
Here are some example of contraction words:
I + am = I’m.
He + is = He’s.
She + is = She’s.
You + are = You’re.
They + are = They’re.
I + will = I’ll.
Once you have completed the above, please see if you can write a short narrative paragraph based on the extract we looked at yesterday. You could continue the story or write a prediction. Try and include apostrophes for showing words in their contracted form.

Here are the answers that I came up with!

The word ‘cannot’ is being replaced as ‘can’t’

After the kids leave the hall, I think Luke’s cousin (maybe a girl as there is a girl in the front cover) comes and joins the school. The five if them become really close and maybe, as Zack does not want to be a superhero anymore, she replaces him. The five of them go on great missions together.

I think that the friends discover that Luke’s cousin is also a superhero but Zack does not want to be one anymore so he gives his powers to Luke. And then he and his friends save the world.

After listening to this message, perhaps they will gather to speak about it. I am guessing they will go on a very dangerous adventure.
The reason I have changed your writing from past tense to future tense is because it is a prediction so you are guessing what will happen next rather than stating something that has already happened (which doesn’t make it a prediction). Hope that makes sense! What kind of dangerous adventure might they go on?

We have read the first two chapters of ‘My Cousin is a Time Traveller’ and we know that Zack Parker has made a decision to no longer have superpowers. For my prediction I think that Luke will take his place as a superhero and join forces with their neighbour, Lara Lee also known as Dark Flutter. He’s going to travel through time and see that the world needs saving. As fast as lightning, he will save the world and become a famous superhero. Soon after, him and his family are going to live a happy life but Luke stays a superhero and he’s always their to protect or save the world from either dark forces or aliens.

I think what will happen next is that there is another girl at his school that they had never noticed but now they ar starting to realise that there is another super hero in there world. They finally become friends and they encounter a mission together Luke manages to bring his brother along as Star Laser for the last time he thought but would it be the last of Star Laser? After they mission to defeat an evil toaster they actually make a time travelling machine that shows all Star Laser’s missions and they manage to convine him to keep them. So Luke was happy his brother was still a super hero he felt a bit sad he wasn’t bad but now knows it is not easy at all being a super hero.

I think Zack is going to give his super powers to Luke, as he doesn’t want them any longer. It might be that Luke that his cousin, a superhero girl can time travel. Together they have to go on a mission that requires both of their powers. Along the way, they come across different challenges and need to use whatever tools they have to overcome them. However while transforming toaster into a get pack, something goes terribly wrong and the toaster gets out of control causing havoc around the world.

I think that when Zorbon arrives he won’t want to take away Zack’s powers but Zack will find a way to get rid of them. His powers will leave him and enter the family’s toaster that will try to take over the world. This is why Zorbon didn’t want Zack to get rid of his powers even if Zack really wanted to. After that, Luke’s cousin will come to stay and the toaster will take over the world. Luke, the cousin, Zack Lara and S.C.A.R.F will go back in time to make sure that Zack doesn’t get rid of his powers and the world isn’t taken over.
